What are You Reading RIGHT NOW? May 2012-January 2013

To participate in this challenge the first thing The Four of Us do is head our bookshelves, our Library Bookshelf in particular:
The Library Bookshelf is a MUST in home like ours. If we aren't reading a library book, this is where it lives. When it's Library Day (Thursday) we grab our library bags, library cards, grab the books that need to be returned
and then hit the library.
We're thinking Alex Johnson would get a kick out of our
bookshelves. The Dad makes new shelves every
time we need them: OFTEN; bookshelves literally fill our house.
Want to tell us what is on YOUR bookshelf?
Take The Bookshelf Challenge --one of our first challenges!

Coincidentally,  The Poet sent us this piece from NPR: A Book About Bookshelves To Put On Your Very Own Bookshelf. His timing was perfect, The Mom purchased Bookshelf by Alex Johnson for The Dad!  The shelves in the book are wild and wonderful, you can explore some of them on the Bookshelf blog and the NPR storyThe bookshelves around here are not exactly the artful masterpieces we imagine are featured in the book (it should arrive tomorrow); we wondered what Alex Johnson's own bookshelves were like. Thankfully Madhulika Sikka asked him this exact question:
So how does Johnson himself store books?
"Ha, ha! Just as the cobbler's children have the shoddiest shoes, my bookshelves and bookcases are spectacularly dull and straightforward," he says. "Most of them are standard, horizontal wooden shelves painted white in the basement of the house where I work."

What are you Reading RIGHT NOW Challenge Spring 2012

‎"Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky,
My piles of books
are a mile high.
How I love them!
How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by
the time I read them!"
Arnold Lobel, amazing children's author

Help us celebrate the beginning of our 3rd year (our 2nd anniversary) by telling us what you are reading!

We've been reading "books to the sky", learning loads, visiting our favorite library often, and working with our local libraries on a couple of great projects,
we'll share all of the goodies soon.

For now grab the book you are reading
and tell us about it, click down below to post a comment!

What Are You Reading RIGHT NOW! Challenge April 2011

Happy April Readers. It is time to start this month's What are You Reading RIGHT NOW! Challenge. It is simple. Just tell us about the books, magazines, poems, etc. you are reading. The Mom has grown to LOVE this Challenge --it always improves her reading list! Here are of few of the titles The Sisters are reading RIGHT NOW!
UPS just delivered The Big Sister
her very own copy of
The Dragonology Handbook,
she'll be returning the library's copy
in case you want to read it too.
The Mom and The Little Sister
are reading the Mr Putter Series
and laughing REALLY hard.
Coincidentally in this volume of
Thea Stilton's adventures the girls are
in Japan. So far the Cherry
Blossom Adventures
are great fun.
And when you finish your book come back and tell us all about it. Take a challenge, or two, or ten!

Today (April 7) is The Teacher's Birthday! We are sending sent a tiny regatta of freshly made boats out onto slowly thawing Turtle Lake in her honor. Happy Birthday Dear Teacher and thank you for helping to make the BFWP so wonderful!

The What Are You Reading RIGHT NOW! Challenge: September 2010

The Big Sister came up with this idea for this Challenge --to find out what everyone is reading, right now, we loved the idea --and so did our readers.

Beginning with our September edition we will begin each month with an invitation to share What Are You Reading RIGHT NOW.

In honor of today being International Literacy Day why don't you share what you are reading --and if you aren't reading anything, get some ideas from our readers and start reading!

Then come back every time you begin a new book, or feel moved to tell The Books for Walls Project what you are reading!

What Are You Reading RIGHT NOW! Challenge

I (the Big Sister) want to know about the books, poetry, and even magazines, that you are reading right now and I'll share what I'm reading too!

This is a place at the Books for Walls Project where you can come to post if you are reading something really good and want the world to know --or, I suppose, if you are reading something really bad, too.

Thanks, we need a new book to read aloud, so we are looking forward learning what you are reading!  If you aren't reading anything, right now, take another challenge.

And the Mom says to check out all the great comments on The Bedtime Story Challenge!
