Another early reader favorite--more of a read-along (I read a page, you read a page) is Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes, or any of the Knuffle Bunny or Pigeon books by Mo Willems. Many of these authors write books for older children and adults--so children who start reading with them need never leave a favorite behind.Librarianhttp://suttonsbaylibrary.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154649481632827304.post-12540070245955423432011-10-25T10:59:49.687-04:002011-10-25T10:59:49.687-04:00i LOVE brambly hedge!!

My daughter was captivated by the lives of these tiny people (they have tails but they are NOT mice) who live in the walls of the Big family's house. They are inventive, industrious and master recyclers.Brauerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13936532596326363696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154649481632827304.post-75501775986969096742010-05-25T21:49:19.109-04:002010-05-25T21:49:19.109-04:00Thank you so much for this great list. We have read The Cricket in Times Square, Stuart Little, a few books from the Magic Tree House Series, the first two from The Little House in the Prairie Series, and the first of The Chronicles of Narnia. . . So, knowing that we have these few in common, I'm sure that we will love the rest of your suggestions. Thank you, again!Zane Schwaigerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01740329081919108222noreply@blogger.com
