Hope the books for walls family had a good break, though.

Mine is a pretty normal book resolution...become a more adventurous reader. More specifically, to choose books I wouldn’t normally. BUT, I’ve been primed over the last year by everyone’s post to do just that. I think I’m ready to spread my wings/pages and fly/read some of my daring choices.

I tried to include the whole family in this one. My husband wants to create more rhymes that could eventually turn into a book. The kids think I’m crazy, why would anyone have goals with books. You just see one, pick it up, and have it read to you 50 times. The Librariannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154649481632827304.post-72168085203802386522011-01-10T15:41:37.654-05:002011-01-10T15:41:37.654-05:00Happy New Year to the Four of You and the rest of ...Happy New Year to the Four of You and the rest of the BFWP gang! I don't typically make New Years resolutions, however while on was on vacation recently I made a couple of promises to myself: to explore new authors (sometimes I get into an author rut) and to check out books from the library instead of buying them. Since making myself this promise I have been reading several books by Truman Capote I checked out from the LIBRARY, and also cooking up a storm from a French cookbook from the LIBRARY!Brauerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13936532596326363696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154649481632827304.post-87895170575155509612011-01-07T09:14:27.535-05:002011-01-07T09:14:27.535-05:00Happy New Year BFWP! I like to sprinkle in 'resolutions' & new ideas into my life all year long, but the new year provides every good reason to forge forward with new goals & ambitions. Two of the ones I have related to books/reading & inevitably the BFWP involve: 1. tackling the pile of unread books that I own (there are still about nine real 'books' (& a few guides of sorts) to complete (originally my summer 2010 goal 2. creating space to visit the library & 'do my thing' there. I LOVE the library & for me, the real luxury is to have the time to just go & enjoy--wandering around for any items on my 'wish list', reading through a few of the mags & periodicals I choose not to subscribe to, & then, one of my super-duper-faves: jaunting through the cookbook aisles & exploring new continents of ingredient & flavor. Additionally, I like to pile as many books/periodicals/mags/etc that I can, find a cozy nook, pull out my laptop & iPod & just dive in... The trick here will be to set aside ample time to do this... typically, I drop by after a long day of work (eyes are tired, spirit a bit weary) & have limited time available & a need to get a workout in & eat some dinner... So here is to creatively carving out real TIME to imbibe in the good (book) life! :)jenn ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10459804215282659291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154649481632827304.post-16240180173738157422011-01-06T11:20:35.750-05:002011-01-06T11:20:35.750-05:00I can't remember the last time I made ANY New ...I can't remember the last time I made ANY New Year's resolutions. But faced with a challenge, I resolve to complete the clearing out of my book shelves so that I'm left with only those books I would not give up, that I would take with me wherever I go from here. No small task, although I've already rid myself of hundreds.jolynbarretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16907132982054829902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154649481632827304.post-43886575556259210892011-01-05T10:18:45.560-05:002011-01-05T10:18:45.560-05:00First I MUST thank the Bean --my wonderful Mom, th...First I MUST thank the Bean --my wonderful Mom, the Sisters Nana-- she offered this challenge and we jumped up and down (really) we were giddy to start off this year with help and with such a great idea!

My resolution is turn off the computer and READ more at night.
