I was reading in BEAUTY by John O'Donohue this morning and came across this line:"Indeed, a book is a path of words which takes the heart in new directions."
Like Joylynbarrett’s comment, this book takes the heart on a whirl. Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann had my head swirling with its myriad of heart-breaking characters, situations both troubling & healing, all spun around the 1974 walk between the World Trade Center buildings. Cities are tapestries rich the color of life itself and untold stories galore!
Thanks (Mom, The Bean, Kathy Daniels) for suggesting this book to me --it will be one of my top books for 2011. This is one of my favorite quotes form the book:"There is a still point where the present, the now, winds around itself, and nothing is tangled. The river is not where it begins or ends, but right in the middle point, anchored by what has happened and what is to arrive."
