"A book is not only a friend, it makes friends for you. When you have possessed a book with mind and spirit, you are enriched. But when you pass it on you are enriched threefold."
(This quote seemed fitting as The Mom just won a book thanks to The Bookstack --we may need to lead by her example and start giving more books away!)
How about the Challenged Book Challenge
or The One Liner Challenge? The Books for Walls Project is all about sharing!
We have some great things planned for the near future, including an interview with Marika Mashburn**, who for for the past several months has considered Mc Murdo Station, Antarctica her home (click the link to see the McMurdo webcam). Can you imagine what life would be like on Antarctica? What did Marika read? Did she meet penguins? Are kids allowed on Mc Murdo Station?
**If her name sounds familiar, she provided The Books for Walls Project with these fantastic photos of Mc Murdo Library and answered our question: "Yes, there is a library on Antarctica!" Marika is also an actress and all around amazing person to know! And we must credit Marika with reaching one of our goals: to reach Antarctica and to learn about reading and life there!
Come back soon for the interview and for Wednesday's Challenge.
